The Ministry of Coal conducts the review meetings of coal production from captive and commercial coal blocks at regular intervals and is a significant move aimed at reviewing and assessing the coal production in the country. These meetings serve as a platform for the ministry to monitor the progress, address challenges, and identify strategies to enhance coal production from allocated coal mines towards achieving the objective Atmanirbhar Bharat.
These production review meetings are conducted by various levels of ministry to serve as a platform for collaboration and coordination among various government agencies involved in the coal sector. This includes the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEF and CC), Ministry of Power, Ministry of Railways, and state-level authorities. By bringing these stakeholders together, the ministry can ensure better coordination, streamline decision-making processes, and implement effective policies for enhancing domestic coal production.
